It is mainly used as a reinforcing agent and filler for rubber, and its consumption is about half of the rubber consumption. Carbon black for rubber accounts for 94% of the total carbon black, of which about 60% is used in tire manufacturing. In addition, it is also used as a colorant for inks, coatings and plastics, and as a UV-shielding agent for plastic products. It is also an important additive in many other products, such as electrodes, dry batteries, resistors, explosives, cosmetics and polishing pastes.
Carbon black is mainly used in rubber products. The finer the particle size of carbon black, the better its reinforcing properties; the higher the structure of carbon black, the higher its modulus and modulus. Reinforcing varieties with fine particle sizes are mainly used in tire treads to give tires excellent wear resistance. Other parts of the tire, such as sidewalls, ply layers, belt buffer layers and inner lining layers, require rubber materials that are resistant to flex cracking, ozone oxidation, good resilience and low heat generation properties. Generally, higher rubber materials are used. Coarse particle size semi-reinforced furnace black (specific surface area less than 40m2/g).
Tank black for pigments is widely used in inks, coatings and plastics. Inks, especially press inks, mainly use medium pigment tank black. In the coating manufacturing process, high-pigment channel black gives excellent blackness and gloss to high-end automotive topcoats, while medium-pigment channel black is used for general industrial coatings. In addition, medium pigment tank black is also commonly used as a UV-shielding agent for polyolefins to improve the weather resistance of plastic products. Groove black for rubber is mainly used in the tread rubber of tires, especially off-road and engineering tires. It gives the tread high strength and good wear resistance.
Thermal black is mainly used in rubber products. Due to its coarse particle size and poor reinforcing performance, it is only used in situations where maximum filling increment is required, such as in the manufacture of rubber pads, hoses, sponge products, sealing rings, tire inner liners, bead rubber, and insulation products.
